200lbs? Seems a little light to me.

I agree, it's got to be more than 200. The horns are big, but light. None of the other parts are. maybe the 200 pounds is minus cabinets? If I had the spare cash, I'd go down there and U-Haul it back home.
I just re-read the add....... the cabinets aren't included in the shipping.
"* IF you pick them up or make your own shipping arrangements (nothing is crated) we will include the original Altec cabinets FREE - a $1,000 value!!!"
I don't know what it is lately with people thinking the cabinets are worth their weight in gold. I keep seeing then on ebay listed for ridiculous amounts. When I sold mine 2 years ago I couldn't get the $250 I paid for them back out.

Very true. Cabinet prices seem to run high (to me). This sale will throw them in for free if you pick them up. I like that.
Was thinking, is $4K really a good deal? With the cabs, probably. But what's the typical sum for all those parts bought separately?
Call me confused. What is the difference between an A5 and and A7? The Cabs. look just like my A7s, the woofer looks like a modern frame compaired to my green 416-8a's. The horns look like a relic from World War II. Where the A5s and A7s offered at the same time period?
A5's used large format HF horns/drivers, with a 515 woofer, I believe. The A7 uses small format HF hardware with the 416 woofer. Both use the same cabinet........ unless you go back to the H110 cabinet era, where the A5 and A6 use a much larger cabinet. I don't know if the A7 existed then....... the A800 may have been current.
